A Paw-some New Beginning

More Than Just Rehoming
At Southern Charm Precious Paws, our retired Yorkie and Morkie adoption program is built on love, responsibility, and doing what is best for our dogs. We retire our adult dogs not because they are unwanted—but because we believe every dog deserves the opportunity to live as a cherished family companion. By placing our retired parents into carefully chosen homes, we give them the chance to enjoy a life of one-on-one attention, comfort, and devotion.

The Perfect Family Awaits
The perfect family for a Southern Charm Precious Paws dog is looking for more than just a cute companion—they are looking for a lifelong best friend. They want a dog who will be a true part of their family, sharing in everyday moments and becoming a constant source of love and joy. They are looking for a loving, loyal companion with a sweet, balanced temperament, raised with care and intention.

Addressing Your Concerns
Families often come to us excited—but understandably full of questions. Whether they are adopting a puppy or a retired adult dog, the most common concerns usually center around adjustment, health, and making the right decision. We address concerns about adjustment, the workload of puppies, misconceptions about retired dogs, and health concerns, providing clear guidance and ongoing support.
Why We Retire Our Breeding Dogs
At Southern Charm Precious Paws, the health, happiness, and long-term well-being of our dogs always come first. We believe breeding should never come at the expense of a dog’s quality of life.
We retire our dogs from breeding because:
- Health and safety matter most. Repeated pregnancies or stud use can place physical strain on a dog. Retirement ensures our dogs remain healthy, comfortable, and able to enjoy life without unnecessary stress on their bodies.
- Emotional well-being is just as important. Our dogs are family members, not production animals. After contributing to our program, they deserve a life focused on love, play, and companionship.
- Ethical breeding has limits. Responsible breeders know when to stop. Retirement reflects our commitment to humane practices and responsible population management.
- It protects future generations. Allowing dogs to rest helps maintain strong genetics and prevents overuse that can lead to health complications in future litters.
When our dogs retire, they either remain with us as cherished pets or are placed in carefully selected, loving homes where they can enjoy the rest of their lives as companions—not breeders.
This is part of our promise to operate with integrity, compassion, and respect for every dog in our care.
"Adopting from Southern Charm Precious Paws was the best decision our family ever made. Our retired Morkie has brought so much love and laughter into our home!"
